Bi-weekly meetings.
Every other week, we will have a scheduled meeting to discuss progress for that current week and speak with a guest speaker within the industry. |
Behind the scenes tours.
To enrich the educational opportunities for our members, we are working with local parks to provide behind the scenes tours to learn about how these parks operate. |
Amusement park visits.
While not free, we hope to get discounts for our members to be able to enjoy local theme parks and attractions while at the same time learning more about how they function. |
Outreach programs.
A goal for our first semester is to design a program teaching basic amusement park physics, and reach out to local high schools and work with students to get them excited about math and science. |
Socials.
The best way that we can create a new organization on campus is by creating an identity. We plan on having lots of exciting socials to get to meet one another and establish a group identity. |
Conventions.
There are yearly conventions that are GREAT opportunities for those truly interested in this industry. Conventions such as IAAPA and ASTM not only give members great insight, but also great job opportunities and contacts. |
Networking opportunities.
We are not the only TPEG groups out there. One goal that we have is to interact with the other chapters to share ideas, goals, and experiences. |
Other ideas?
Come to our weekly meetings or contact us if you have any great ideas. We are looking for officers passionate about getting this started at UT, so please don't be hesitant! |
