What do theme park engineers do?
Theme park engineers design most elements that comprise a theme park or other entertainment venues. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Large Amusement Ride Design (For parks such as Six Flags, Cedar Fair, Universal, Disney, Herschend, etc.)
- Water-slide Design
- Portable Attraction Design (For smaller parks)
- Theme Design (Haunted houses, dark rides, etc.)
- Animatronic Design
- Exhibit Design (For museums, etc.)
- Arcade Game Design
- Amusement Food Creation
A theme park is comprised of many components. From business and advertisement majors providing funding and feasibility studies to graphic designers creating logos to engineers drafting and supervising construction of a ride, each individual plays a crucial role in the success of any given amusement park. At Texas Theme Park Engineering Group, our goal is to provide aspiring students with further insight through hands on design experience as well as behind the scenes tours of local parks and museums.
